In 1996, my husband and I moved to Hilliard and quickly found our community. Hilliard is the place that felt like home and has been a wonderful place to raise our family.
I am an educator, mom, small business owner, and volunteer. After graduating in 1993 from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in French, I began my career in education with Columbus City Schools. In 1998, I earned a M.S. in Educational Theory and Practice from the Ohio State University. In 1999, I joined Hilliard City Schools where I had the opportunity to work in every school allowing me to really get to know our community. Currently I am an administrator with Dublin City Schools where I serve as the Coordinator of Digital and Personalized Learning.
Hilliard has been a great place to raise our family. My husband, Jon, and I raised our two boys in this great community and have benefitted from the great schools, amenities, and organizations. From our time in HOSA where I volunteered as a soccer coach, to the pools where our boys learned to swim, and to today where we enjoy the Center Street Market and the summer Thursday night concerts, I feel Hilliard was the right choice for our family.
I have a passion for sports. I grew up playing soccer, swimming, and competing in track and field. As an adult, I became involved with running marathons and triathlons and have completed 10 marathons and 4 Ironman races. Each of these accomplishments required me to set goals, do the work, and persevere. In 2012, I started my business, Balanced Triathlon Training LLC, focused on helping athletes of all abilities to reach their triathlon goals. As a small business owner, I value the time and investment it takes to build a successful business and how we can help each other create a vibrant business community.
I also believe in volunteering and supporting our local community. I have volunteered and financially supported the Hilliard Food Pantry, the Hilliard Education Foundation, the Central Ohio Triathlon Club where I served as president, Marathoners in Training, and volunteered in multiple roles that supported Hilliard City Schools.
I have been fortunate to be a part of the Hilliard community, not only as an educator but also as a proud resident. My husband and I have raised our two sons here and now are watching our grandchildren grow up in Hilliard. We value Hilliard’s unique blend of small-town charm and modern conveniences. From its excellent schools and welcoming neighborhoods to the parks, pools, and community events, Hilliard offers an incredible quality of life. It’s a place where families can grow, neighbors feel like friends, and the sense of community is strong. I want Hilliard to be a thriving community where every resident is proud to live, work, and raise a family.
I’m grateful to call Hilliard home.
